NGO SAHAS i.e. Sugar and Health Awareness Society was founded by Dr. Amrit Pal Singh Sodhi. With a noble objective to serve people, Dr. Sodhi proceeded further by spreading awareness about diabetic treatment and preventive care. Dr. Sodhi initiated this NGO to patronize his mission and thereby, mentored SAHAS to meet its colossal goals.

NGO Aims TO

  • Promote mass awareness about the symptoms of Diabetes and to educate them to seek instant diabetic care by reaching Doctor’s threshold at an early observation phase of symptoms. The idea is to make people aware about the early signs of Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes.
  • Encourage and motivate patients about the effective results of taking medicine for Diabetic treatment, on time, and visiting doctors for regular health check-up.
  • Build a healthy and immune world that has the courage to defeat ‘Diabetes’.
  • Register Type 1 Diabetic patients that come to Diabetic clinics and provide instant as well as vital guidance to them and their families for continuous usage of Insulin for life time. The objective is to make them understand about the importance of continuity and educate them about its complications on becoming careless.
  • Prevent and protect patients from the serious complications that may arise due to Type 2 Diabetes i.e. Amputation, Blindness, Cardiac Attacks, Dialysis & CVA (Cerebro Vascular Attacks).
  • SAHAS is an active NGO that is well-reputed in Moga, Punjab. It has established a state-of-art Free Insulin bank that provide free Insulin to needy Type I & Type II Diabetic patients coming from any hospital in the respective area.

 

Objectives of NGO (SAHAS)

  • Mass awareness reagrding symptoms & educating patient to doctors door in the very beginning for (type 1& type 2 diabetic patient)..
  • To motivate patients to take their medicine & visit their doctor regularly
  • To create a healthy world among diabetes
  • To register all type 1 diabetic patients & guide their family for using continous insulin for the life time and to educate them about the complication
  • Established 1st of its kind free insulin bank for needy type 1 diabetic patients and type 2 (insulin dependent ) needy patients of area of any hospital
